Folks, when you respond to the bait tossed by someone of his nature, you are playing into his game of making you angry over his juvenile posts. Would it not be better to ignore his type of post and smile on to something else?

People like him will simply fade away if you pretend they don't exist. Really.

i think he gets too ampted up listening to Glenn Beck/Michael Savage, then tends to think most deadheads are tree/Che Guevara huggin libs.
Until this forum, I tended to think the same, but know better now

He hates Savage, that guy is out of his mind and not a very good broadcaster. Glenn Beck is a little strange but more palatable but I don't think he likes him very much either. And again everyone assuming they that know about someone and drudging this up again is in poor taste and irresponsible. FINALLY, thanks for the positive feedback regarding our requests in this forum from the nice folks who offered help in our quest to find stock audio footage from deadshow parking lots for our project. I hope this ends soon...

Heh, Michael Weiner hate's most everybody, to include Bush and Limbaugh-lol. (I disagree on his stance on pot, though). He's had very good interviews with Wrangle and Schumer-very civil and insightful...
Hey, I'll listen to just about everyone, then I cull the truth from the BS. You can find truth in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
It takes commonsense and disernment. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. Even if i have to grit me teeth, I'll give a good listen to anyone, THEN make my "Judgements".
If pressed for a label, I'm a conservative-Liberitarian, old school. JFK would be considered a conservative these daze, i suspect.
Now Bush, imo, is a disgrace to conservativism
and Dean or Murtha, to liberalism, (again, imo).
From experience, some of the most intolerent people I've met are SF and Berkeley liberals. But enough already!
I'll stick to GD subjects (you're welcome)

With you Charlie. I'm sure not one of the stereotypical Deadheads that the media has in mind. That said, neither of our two political parties out there seem to be practicing their ideaology very well. Makes for some very vague and ambiguous leadership. Their stranglehold on power also prevents any kind of third party from rising up, and Ive never seen a time when it's more needed.

imagine a 3rd party not owned by lobbiests, special interests or big business- I'm all for that!
Or a senator/representative that actually votes the will of their constituants. I can't fault Pelosi or Barbara Lee for that...but we do need a multi-party system because the Democraps & Republicraps 99% owned, imo
In our present system, no good honest person has a chance, or would EVER be in a position to be elected. If they did, they'd probably be shot by some sort of organized darkness.
Which, btw, was stated/discussed by the oft hated Savage one. Any Coast to Coast fans out there?

Well that's a fact - about anyone honest having a chance. Gone are the days when a PResident could be a REAL person. Hell, it is impossible to get elected without making promises and telling people they can get more services for free. The way I see it is BOTH parties are beholden to BIG Corporate money and the means they use to get over on people is playing to the Religious right. I mean what chance does an honest person have when the majority of people that vote actually beleive this country was founded on Christianity? Also the majority of people think their tax dollars go to the poor instead of corporate subsidies.

Well I'll agree with you on the intolerance of Berkeley type liberals. I see the same thing up here with Sierra Club types. Having said all that, after going back to the Bay area it sure was refreshing to me to be amongst liberals other than the right wingers up here who think the 2nd ammendment is the only one. I am SO sick of people voting for these make beleive morals then wondering why they can't afford healthcare. Everybody wants to defend all these poor companies like Walmart who are just after all hardworking entrepaneurs, then they wonder why their standard of living keeps going down.

Sorry to rant but you have to understand that up here EVERYTHING is all the " liberals" fault and yet the left allmost NEVER have any political clout up here. Alaska Republicans are about as corrupt as they come but people insist on still voting for them because they're against abortion and have an R by their name.Oh and all Alaskans care about is not ever having to pay for a damn thing.

ok, sorry. I'm mostly a libertarian myself except I happen to think that as long as money is getting spent unconstitutionally I'd rather it go to people that need it which doesn't include corporate subsidies.

Well Charlie I don't know about tree huggers but I guarantee most Dead Heads are liberal. The TRUE definition of the word means to be open minded and tolerant. Hard to argue that one. I think it's a safe bet that a vast majority are left leaning and the ones that lean right do so in the LIBERTARIAN point of veiw not the Republican Corporate kiss ass hate machine that people like Savage and Limbaugh are all about.

It's somewhat akin to Oscar Wilde's statement that "The only thing worse than being talked about behind your back is not being talked about behind your back."

Wasn't it also Wilde who said "Your majesty is like a stream of bat's piss. You shine out like a shaft of gold when all around is dark."? Or was it Whislter? Maybe Shaw? No, it was Shaw who said "Your majesty is like a dose of clap. Before you arrive is pleasure, but after is a pain in the dong."

Sorry, couldn't help myself, the lead in was too good. You Python fans know who you are.

There is no way I could responsibly answer such a question, but if you were to ask some others on this board (who shall remain nameless), my guess is they'd say that "dong" is all too kind a reference. The difference between "Us" and "Them" (kind of Hemmingway thing) is that our teeth are only bared in defense. I must say I like the idea of a Wolf chained up in front of the house.

well, hopefully those "nameless" ones are not any of the regulars (not that "everyone" has to like me by any stretch - i'm not the easiest person) - i feel bad if i have pissed any of the regulars off though. i'm pretty sure i've made amends with the few i've butted heads with in the past - but i guess i don't know for sure.

As for anyone else - i could care less who likes and who doesn't. I always want to defend "our house" and always defend my friends - just my nature (in real life and forum life)

Well said. And on the subject of animals defending houses, that brings me around to the subject of cats v. dogs. As stated in my earlier post, I respect cats and can see the attraction they hold for folks. However, from a practical point of view until I hear some potential burglar say "Well, I was about to enter the house when I heard a tremendous "meow" that scared the crap out of me", I'll have to stick with my dogs, especially when one considers that I live in a less than reputable part of town and home defense is very important. While my mix breed is large and has a rather imposing set of teeth, the Boston Terrier is the fiercest thing on four legs I've ever seen. My guess is that while the thief is staring down the jaws of the bigger dog, the little one would jump up and clamp on the poor dude's jewels and lock his jaws. But, some of you may have "Attack Cats" that are also very protective of the home, an if so, I apologize to you in advance.

Truly, ignoring assholes like that would make 'em dry up and blow away, but who's got anything better to do? Getting into a verbal jousting contest with a disrespectful little turd has it's entertainment value if nothing else.

I, for one, think this is a pretty cool little community, and I don't mind leaving Dire chained up out in the front yard to show his teeth at unwelcome interlopers.
